Today, I want to share some easy and healthy drinks that can help with weight loss!
When you think of the best beverages for shedding pounds, smoothies might come to mind. However, making smoothies can be a bit tricky. While they are nutritious, they may not always be the simplest choice when you want something quick. Plus, blending fruits and vegetables can get pricey.
We’re not dismissing the classic green smoothie, but we’d like to offer some alternative options for healthy weight loss drinks. The drinks listed below can be easily incorporated into your diet to support your weight loss journey. They are low in calories, and many can help reduce cravings and assist your body in losing extra weight.
Whether you’re just starting your weight loss journey or trying to break through a plateau, you might see better results by including some of these drinks in your routine. Just remember, none of these beverages are a magic solution for weight loss. A balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are still the most effective ways to lose weight and keep it off!
P.S. I enjoy almost all of these drinks daily to maintain my weight and boost my intake of vitamins and nutrients!

Have you noticed that many weight loss supplements include caffeine? That’s because caffeine can enhance your metabolism and improve your body’s ability to burn fat.
But it’s not just caffeine that’s beneficial. The chlorogenic acid found in coffee can help reduce the amount of sugar your body absorbs from food. According to the Specialty Coffee Chronicle, chlorogenic acid acts as an antioxidant, providing additional benefits from drinking coffee.
Coffee also contains riboflavin, pantothenic acid, manganese, potassium, magnesium, and niacin. If you drink several cups a day, you could get at least 10% of the recommended daily value of these nutrients. However, if you start adding flavorings, sugar, and creamers to your coffee, you might negate its benefits by introducing carbs, fats, and processed chemicals. Stick to black coffee to enhance your weight loss efforts.
Apple cider vinegar is created by fermenting apples into a low-calorie, carbohydrate-free compound, consisting of about 5% acetic acid. Researchers suggest that acetic acid can help the body utilize glucose in the blood for energy and lower insulin levels. Another study indicated that acetic acid activates an enzyme that aids in burning more fat.
Studies have shown that people who consume apple cider vinegar with meals may feel fuller, reducing the likelihood of overeating. It’s a great tool for promoting fat loss, helping the body use carbs for energy, and curbing cravings. To maximize its benefits, drink a tablespoon or two mixed with 8 ounces of water about 15 to 30 minutes before meals. Raw, organic apple cider vinegar that hasn’t been heated is usually milder and more pleasant to drink. Bragg’s is currently the best brand available.
You might be aware of the health benefits of green tea. Matcha is a type of green tea that is cultivated to enhance the levels of chlorophyll and amino acids in the final product. It contains ten times the antioxidants of regular green tea!
Matcha has more caffeine, catechins, and antioxidants than standard green tea. Dr. Axe explains that matcha green tea can support weight loss. Research has found that individuals who drink tea high in catechins tend to have lower body fat, belly fat, and overall body weight compared to those who don’t. Since matcha green tea can also aid recovery after intense workouts, it can help you maintain optimal health if you include vigorous exercise in your weight loss plan. Be sure to buy 100% organic matcha sourced from Japan (not China). This brand is affordable and excellent.
While some celebrities and fitness experts promote lemon water as a miracle solution for weight issues, it’s not a guaranteed fix. According to Women’s Health Mag, there’s no direct evidence that drinking lemon water leads to weight loss. However, it can support your weight loss efforts by encouraging healthy habits. If you make it a routine to drink lemon water first thing in the morning, you’re starting your day positively.
I have a cup of warm lemon water every morning before eating or drinking my matcha or coffee. Just heat the water until it’s warm (not hot, as that can destroy the natural enzymes) and squeeze half a lemon into it. It’s also wise to drink it with a straw when possible to protect your tooth enamel from acidity.
Many people find that reinforcing healthy habits at the start of the day makes them more likely to continue those positive behaviors throughout their daily routine. Drinking lemon water can also help you stay hydrated if you prefer its taste over plain water. If you replace high-calorie beverages with lemon water, you’ll double the benefits by cutting out extra calories.
According to Prevention, drinking ice water can boost your metabolism. Your body expends energy (and burns calories) to maintain its 98.6-degree temperature. If you drink a large glass of ice water, your body has to work harder to warm it up. Consuming just three 24-ounce glasses of cold water daily could help you burn an extra 100 calories.
My advice is to drink water at whatever temperature encourages you to drink more. If you, like my best friend (Hey Shannon!), enjoy very cold water, that’s fantastic! I find I drink more water when it’s at room temperature, so I rarely have it cold. Experiment and see what works best for you. Aim for 100 ounces a day! Want to add some flavor? Try lemon, lime, or both!

This drink is perfect for the evenings as it can help satisfy those post-dinner sweet cravings. Just be sure to mix it with some caffeine-free herbal tea. Research indicates that cinnamon can help your body utilize sugar more effectively. It enhances insulin sensitivity and can aid in weight loss, especially for those with insulin resistance.
The Diabetes Self-Management website cites studies showing that as fat cells grow larger, they produce chemicals that increase insulin resistance. This means your body doesn’t respond as well to insulin, which is essential for using sugar for energy. More sugar remains in your bloodstream, hindering weight loss and potentially leading to various health issues.
If you have significant weight to lose, you might also be insulin resistant. Drinking cinnamon tea can help improve your body’s insulin response and assist in shedding stubborn pounds. If you suspect you’re struggling with weight loss due to insulin resistance, our 21-Day Fat Loss Challenge could be a great fit for you. It includes all the healthy drinks mentioned above!
